What personality trait of Spike appeals to you most and why?
What, other than a physical appeal, caused you to love this
Well first thing I thought of to answer that question is this:
To dream the impossible dream,
to fight the unbeatable foe,
to bear with unbearable sorrow,
to run where the brave dare not go...
To right the unrightable wrong,
to love pure and chaste from afar,
to try when your arms are too weary
to reach the unreachable star!
This is my quest --
to follow that star
no matter how hopeless,
no matter how far --
To fight for the right
without question or pause,
to be willing to march into hell
for a heavenly cause!
And I know
if I'll only be true
to this glorious quest
that my heart
will be peaceful and calm
when I'm laid to my rest.
And the world will be better for this
that one man, scorned and covered with scars,
still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable stars!

That's what made me fall for Spike, that quest for the impossible, for what was supposed to be beyond him. That need to be more than what he was. To not just accept his lot in life but to want more. To dare to grasp beyond reach
and succeed beyond even his own imagination.
Spike is a dreamer, he's a hero too, and the regular guy caught in an epic, but he's more than that.
He's both the bad boy and the kid next door that you want to invite in for a hot coco. He's passion and he's comfort, and on top of that, he's us.
He's every single person that tries and keeps trying no matter how hard it gets. He's the courage inside each and everyone of us to dark look at ourself and decide to change. He's the humanity, he's the lowest of the
lowest begging for a Samaritan, and at the same time he is that Samaritan.
He's a realist, he's delusional, he's kind and he's petty, he's loving and hateful...
You can't catch Spike in one word, he's too real for that.
He's us, more so than any human char I've ever seen on tv, his victories, are our victories, his failures, also ours. He's a mirror to both the best and the worst in ourselves and he's more than that.
He might be imaginary, thought up, but in a way he's real, he'll always be real.
In short, I love Spike cause he's Spike.
(the fact that he happens to be hot is just the cherry on the pie where I'm concerned)
Does that answer the question?
