I've enjoyed the book enough to be interested in the movie (though I haven't seen it and probably won't until it hits OnDemand. )

I managed to find a download. Quality isn't too good, but I couldn't wait till march (aka when it comes out in Belgium) to see it.

I liked it loads, so I'll probably go see it in the movies when I can, and hope for a better download as soon as possible. So really I can't say anything about the special effects. But I loved what I saw of the acting, the storyline and the characters.

There are some major changes from the book, some for the better, others not, but... that goes with the medium I guess. For one thing, the zombie marriage and zombie kids plot got scrapped.

That and as you can see from the trailer, they casted R as younger and more 'teenage like' in the movie than he is in the book. I'm guessing in the hope of pulling in a younger crowd. (which is a bit silly, but what do I know)

I liked the movie as well, though I had to wonder throughout the whole film why they made R younger and the general so... nice.

Well movie makers and people in the media in general seem to think that teenagers and young twenty something relate better to 'younger' characters. And putting R in a suit and tie would make him look 'too old'. Kinda like how the people at Marvel keep trying to make us buy the notion that Peter Parker is still in his early twenties.

As for general Grigio being nicer... I think it was a short cut to get to that scene at the end of the general and Julie reconnecting.
